Tiffany Boutwell, CNC and I are proud to present The Best of Fall Cookbook .
Holidays are a time to reconnect with friends and family. It is a time of visiting folks near and far, holiday parties, and entertaining. The holiday season also brings a cycle of stress, missed exercise sessions, and overeating. With preplanning and awesome options this cycle can be broken.
Stress can be handled with acceptance that some problems cannot be solved, the realization that some people cannot be changed, and the knowledge that the entire holiday season requires planning ahead.
Your plan should include time for exercise and time dedicated to you. It should also include time to shop and prepare delicious foods that will nourish you during the holiday season and beyond. For potlucks, we suggest Brussels Sprout Slaw or Roasted Root Vegetables as wonderful options. Baba Ganoush & Pepper Boats with Hummus make beautiful presentations which are great for parties as well.
Exercise should be an important part of your holiday season as well as your daily routine afterward.
Stay hydrated, carve out the time for yourself, and come home to beautiful, easy to prepare, healthy food and you will not gain the unhealthy weight that many people do over the holiday season. Our Kale Chips and Celery Soup are easy to prepare ahead of time so that when you walk in from the gym you do not have to worry about what you will eat.
Overeating is easy to do with the array of choices, the temptation, and the constant flow of get-togethers, potlucks, and parties. If your choices are healthy, then you do not have to worry as much about calorie count but rather eat until satisfied and not beyond.
Listen to your body, as it knows what it needs.
All of the recipes in The Best of Fall Cookbook have been prepared with organic fruits and vegetables. We believe that organic foods provide the most nutrition with the least chemicals.
The recipes are vegan. Accordingly, they would make a wonderful addition to any meal. This is true for plant-based eaters as well as anyone that would enjoy healthier choices.
By vegan, we mean that they do not contain any product made with anything from an animal. This will include milk, meat, and even honey. They are also gluten free, sugar free, and don’t contain any artificial ingredients. We have planned an entire feast. However, you can always add more if you feel that you want another option or two. Do keep in mind that the serving sizes provided are based on a meal with small portions. We did this so that you and your guests can sample many of the dishes.
It is our hope that you will enjoy the recipes, nutrition information, and tips. We have worked to share much throughout the pages of The Best of Fall Cookbook .
